The Guardian Day Foundation was born from heartache—and hope. In February 2021, the wife of one of our own— a Baton Rouge first responder—was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The prognosis was grim. The treatments were urgent. And the costs? They were rising fast, far beyond what insurance would cover. As we rallied around our brother and his family, we quickly discovered they weren’t alone. Four other first responder families in our area were quietly battling their own devastating medical crises.
That’s when we knew: we couldn’t stand by and do nothing.
So we formed the Guardian Day Foundation and created a fundraiser with a single purpose—to help our Guardians in their greatest time of need.
That first year, Guardian Day helped support five families. Today, it’s become so much more.
Guardian Day is a celebration of service, sacrifice, and the strength of our community. It’s a day when we come together not just to raise funds—but to raise each other. Friends, families, and neighbors gather to enjoy food, live music, raffles, auctions, and the kind of fellowship that reminds us what we’re fighting for. Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting local first responder families facing illness, injury, or disaster.
Because when one of our Guardians is in need, we don’t hesitate. We show up. Together.
Guardian Day isn’t just a fundraiser—it’s a lifeline. It’s our way of reminding the men and women who protect us that their community sees them, values them, and stands ready to carry them when life gets heavy. Every raffle ticket, every auction item, every hug shared at the Firmin Barn—it all adds up to something powerful: hope.
When you attend Guardian Day, you’re not just showing up for a good time. You’re showing up for the people who show up for us every single day. You’re helping cover medical bills, ease stress, and remind first responder families that they’re not alone.
Join us. Bring your family. Be part of something that truly matters.
